A high-level meeting chaired by Minister for Industries P. K. Kunhalikutty was held to attract large-scale investments to the state as part of India's upcoming semiconductor revolution. As the world transitions into the next phase of technology, crucial discussions took place during the meeting regarding transforming Kerala into a globally recognized major semiconductor hub.

Kerala possesses the necessary natural resources, skilled human resources, and a strong tech-driven ecosystem required for semiconductor manufacturing. The government aims to bring in foreign and domestic investments to the state by making the most of these favorable conditions.

New projects in Kerala are being formulated by drawing inspiration from the insights of the recent Global Semiconductor Conference held in Delhi. The meeting decided to adopt the successful models of countries leading the global semiconductor manufacturing sector, such as Taiwan, South Korea, and the United States. The primary agenda of the meeting was how to rapidly advance in this sector by utilizing Kerala's resources and potential. Further detailed discussions will be organized in the coming days to expedite follow-up actions.

Prominent figures including former IAS officers Madhavan Nambiar and Aruna Sundararajan, KSIDC Chairman Balagopal, Industries Department Secretary A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, and IT Department Secretary Sambasiva Rao attended the meeting held at the Minister's office. Taking into account the advice of experts in the field, the government has decided to move forward with the project by preparing a clear roadmap.
