Industries and IT Minister P. K. Kunhalikutty stated that one of the state government's primary goals is to transform Kerala into the finest GCC (Global Capability Center) hub. He affirmed that the government is committed to identifying and resolving the state's limitations while maximizing the potential of top professionals. The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the 'Kerala GCC Outlook 2026' meet organized at the Park Centre in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The Minister also released the 'Kerala GCC Feasibility Report' at the event.
The Minister noted that several efforts were made in the past to mark Kerala on the IT map, which proved successful and led to major achievements. He added that even during a period when technology was not as advanced as today, Kerala managed to position itself at the forefront of the IT industry and among professionals globally.
Now is the time to think about new initiatives. The IT policy announced by the new government clearly outlines the goal of making Kerala the top GCC hub. The government is fully aware of the limitations faced in this sector. At the same time, it takes pride in the state's key strengths, such as a strong education system, high literacy, high IT literacy, and exceptional professionals. The Minister added that the goal is to overcome all hurdles and turn Kerala into the number-one GCC destination that everyone wishes to choose, and the activities currently being implemented will undoubtedly help achieve this.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also exchanged between Infopark Kerala and leading GCC consultancy firm ANSR during the event. V. Muraleedharan MLA presided over the function, and Electronics & IT Department Special Secretary Seeram Sambasiva Rao delivered the welcome address. Following this, ANSR Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Srinivasan Sarvabhouman presented the feasibility report detailing Kerala's GCC potential and future plans.
Councillor Sunil S.S., GTech Secretary Rony Sebastian, and Infopark Kerala CEO Sushanth Kurunthil delivered felicitations. Technopark CEO Sanjeev Kumar expressed the vote of thanks. Prior to the report launch and allied events, a leadership panel discussion featuring experts was organized on the topic 'Kerala GCC Opportunity: From Strategic Assessment to Accelerated Growth'. Following the official proceedings, a high-level leadership roundtable meeting led by the Minister was also held.
